Brett Buchanan grew up on a working commercial cattle ranch owned by his family near Durkee, Oregon. Brett began riding at the age of 4, following the cattle to the high outside pastures with his parents. He rodeoed for three years in high school with the Baker High School Rodeo Team, team roping all over the state of Oregon. An additional two years of college rodeo combined with some ICA and NPRA roping and his ranch background led him to making his own cowboy gear. His work attracted the attention of both friends and strangers alike and Empire Leather Company was born. Brett has cowboyed and rodeoed in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. In addition to chinks and chaps, Brett makes such diverse items as spur straps, headstalls, breast collars, belts, purses, day planners, wallets, photo albums and checkbook and Bible covers. You name it and Brett will make it a work of art you'll be proud to use or display. |
